Scene safety carries more weight at EMR than at any other level. Expect scenarios where the right answer is to stay back, call for resources, or manage bystanders.
What EMR items focus on
- Life threats first: airway positioning, rescue breathing, bleeding control, recognizing shock.
- Your scope: the exam checks that you choose EMR-level care, not interventions reserved for EMTs or above.
- Handing over: what to report to the arriving crew, and staying with the patient until care is transferred.
When an option describes something beyond EMR scope, it is almost never the answer, however clinically sensible it sounds.
